Revize - How to create a contact form
Last Updated 10 months ago

Example: https://migration.revize.com/revize/pullman/government/city_council/index.php

The idea is to be able to use the "business directory" function without utilizing the plain text email contact function.

Here is the workaround:

Click the edit icon in the user instance you are trying to update

In the rich text editor, add the text "Email XXXX XXXX" - you can also add an icon image here if you prefer and link to the same.

Highlight the text and click the Link option

In the link manager, scroll down and select "Create New" and select the freeform page type

Once completed, click save on your rich text editor and return to the main page, and you should see the link highlighted in your directory.

Click that link.

This will bring you to a blank page. Click Edit Content in the top menu.

In the Content editor, drop in the Form Builder tool

Select Edit Form

Title your form

From the right side menu, drag over three text fields and one text area (or customize to your need)

Text area 1 can be First Name, and update the "Name" field as well to match. Require or not.

Same can be done with Last Name and Email for the second and third Text Field options.

For Text Area, input the field you would like users to respond in. We recommend setting a character limit, as these forms do not provide a lot of formatting options, so follow up would best be handled in regular email format.

Note in this example, we set a character limit of 500, as well as noted that in the placeholder text.

Lastly, hit Form Properties in the upper right corner of the form builder

Input the name of your form, what you would like the email subject to be, and the email address(es) you would like forms to go to.

Feel free to test utilizing your own email address first to see how forms come into the email system. These properties can be updated at any time.

Hit save and close out once completed.

More than one area can point to the same contact form location. If you would like a button or page elsewhere on the site to go to this same location, all you need to do is link your text to a (now) existing page.
